Eyewitness Network Backs Tinubu’s Reforms, Urges Nigerians to Sustain Support

The Eyewitness Network (EWN) has commended Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what it describes as three years of courageous leadership and bold economic reforms, while urging Nigerians to continue supporting his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
In a press release issued on July 27, 2026, and signed by the Network’s National Secretary, Dr Saviour Ekpe, the organisation congratulated President Tinubu on completing three years in office as President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The statement followed a high-level meeting of the Network’s Zonal Directors representing Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones. The meeting was chaired by National Director Exlibris Christopher Ekefre, alongside Deputy National Director Hajiya Bera’u Dahiru Auwal, National Secretary Dr Saviour Ekpe, and National Vice Directors from the North West, South South, South West, North East, South East and North Central zones.
According to EWN, President Tinubu inherited major economic and security challenges but has remained committed to implementing reforms aimed at repositioning Nigeria for sustainable economic growth, improved governance and long-term national development.
The organisation highlighted economic reforms which it said have strengthened public finances, increased revenue allocations to the three tiers of government, improved investor confidence and enhanced macroeconomic stability.
EWN also praised the administration’s infrastructure drive, citing major projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway and several strategic road and rail developments across the country. The Network said the projects would boost trade, improve transportation and accelerate national development.
The organisation further recognised efforts in the oil and gas sector, noting that increased investment, expanded domestic refining capacity and gas development initiatives have contributed to strengthening Nigeria’s energy security. It also acknowledged reforms in the power sector aimed at improving electricity infrastructure and supporting industrial growth.
In agriculture, the Network said government programmes were helping to increase food production, support farmers, improve food security and reduce reliance on imports.
EWN equally commended the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) for widening access to higher education through financial support for deserving students, describing it as a major step towards human capital development.
On security, the organisation praised increased funding, the acquisition of modern equipment and enhanced support for the Armed Forces and other security agencies, saying the measures have contributed to efforts to protect lives and property.
While admitting that the reforms have brought economic difficulties for many Nigerians, EWN described the challenges as part of the difficult but necessary process of rebuilding a stronger economy and creating a foundation for future prosperity.
The Network called on Nigerians to remain patient, resilient and supportive of government policies, stressing that national development requires collective sacrifice, unity, transparency, accountability and commitment from both leaders and citizens.
EWN reaffirmed its commitment to promoting responsible citizenship, constructive engagement and national development, expressing confidence that Nigeria would continue making progress towards lasting peace, economic prosperity and shared national advancement under effective leadership and sustained public support
