Nico Halle Honoured as Most Celebrated Peace Crusader, Anti-Corruption Champion of the Decade

Sir Dr. Barrister Nico Halle has been decorated with a prestigious accolade, recognising him as a leading architect of peacebuilding and national reconciliation, as well as a long-standing champion in the fight against corruption and other social ills.

The honour was announced during the 2026 The Voice Decennial Trendsetters Awards ceremony, where organisers celebrated his sustained commitment over the past decade and beyond to promoting peace, dialogue, and ethical governance across Cameroon.

According to the organisers, Sir Dr. Nico Halle’s “down-to-earth diplomacy” has stood out as a reference model for conflict resolution, with consistent engagement across communities nationwide.

Described by the jury as a “pacesetting figure in nation-building,” he is credited with extensive nationwide outreach aimed at fostering harmony and social cohesion, reinforcing what they termed a “consistent commitment” to peace and stability as a foundation for national prosperity.

The award further highlights his long-standing advocacy against corruption, embezzlement, fraud, bribery, electoral malpractice, hate speech, tribalism, xenophobia, and other forms of institutional abuse. Over the years, his anti-corruption stance has been presented as a benchmark for integrity in both public and private life.

In his remarks, Sir Dr. Nico Halle expressed gratitude for the recognition, noting that the award adds to a growing list of honours—reportedly now exceeding 200—that reflect his public service journey. He reaffirmed his commitment to continued advocacy against moral decadence and institutional decay.

He stated that the world is currently facing deep governance challenges, including weakening respect for constitutional order and the rule of law. According to him, these realities demand a renewed ethical framework built not only on legality but also on what he described as the “law of love,” which he presented as a higher moral principle capable of strengthening justice, unity, and human dignity.

He called on the media and civil society in Cameroon and beyond to play a stronger role in promoting peace, accountability, and ethical leadership, while rejecting corruption, manipulation, hate speech, and all forms of discrimination.

The laureate also urged greater collective responsibility in governance and public life, insisting that societies must resist the excessive pursuit of power and wealth and instead prioritise integrity, service, and social responsibility.

The ceremony was held under the patronage of the President of the National Communications Council, Mr. Joseph Chebongkeng Kalabubsu, whom Sir Dr. Nico Halle described as a respected figure in the communications sector.

Sir Dr. Nico Halle congratulated all award recipients, while reiterating that true recognition ultimately belongs to God Almighty, who makes every honour possible.

He concluded by calling for a renewed commitment to what they described as the “rule of love,” emphasising mutual responsibility, ethical conduct, and collective progress as pillars for building a more just and stable society.
