GWPI Unveils Yaoundé Campus with 50% Discount, Aiming to Close Cameroon’s Skills Gap
By Lasha Kingsly
Goodwill Professional Institute (GWPI) has officially launched its Yaoundé campus, positioning itself as a modern training hub aimed at equipping Cameroonians with practical, market-ready skills in an increasingly competitive employment landscape.
The institute, which opened its doors on April 11 in Acacia, Biyem Assi, began activities with a strong turnout, as classrooms quickly came alive with learners engaged in hands-on sessions designed to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
The launch comes at a time when youth unemployment remains a pressing concern in Cameroon, despite the growing number of graduates each year. Industry observers note that, while academic qualifications are widespread, employers are increasingly prioritising demonstrable skills and workplace readiness.
GWPI says its training model is built to respond directly to this demand. By focusing on practical learning, real-world projects, and competency-based instruction, the institute aims to produce professionals capable of delivering immediate value in the job market.
“We are not just teaching; we are building professionals,” a representative of the institute stated during the launch, underscoring GWPI’s commitment to hands-on training and career-oriented education.
As part of its opening offer, the institute announced a promotional package for new enrollees, including a 50 percent discount on its three-month professional training programmes. Registration is set at 25,000 FCFA, while the full training package is fixed at 150,000 FCFA (discount included) during the promotional period.
GWPI’s programmes are designed to benefit a wide range of learners, including students, graduates, job seekers, and aspiring entrepreneurs seeking to strengthen their professional profiles or gain employable skills.
Education stakeholders have welcomed the initiative, noting that institutions focused on practical competence are increasingly vital in addressing the mismatch between academic training and labour market needs.
With admissions now open, GWPI is calling on prospective learners to seize the opportunity to acquire skills that can enhance employability, foster innovation, and support career growth.
A Strong Backing from the Goodwill Group of Companies
GWPI operates under the Goodwill Group of Companies (GWGC), a fast-growing Cameroonian conglomerate headquartered in Douala. Founded in 2013 by entrepreneur Ndikombui Nigel Mingoh, the Group has evolved from a modest accounting enterprise into a diversified business network with a strong footprint across multiple sectors of the economy.
Today, the Group operates through five key subsidiaries, each playing a strategic role in driving enterprise development and community impact.
At the core is Goodwill Consulting Ltd (GWC), the pioneer arm of the Group, which provides services in management consultancy, company creation, auditing, and taxation. Complementing this is Goodwill Financial House (GWFH), an accredited Category Two microfinance institution offering savings, credit facilities, and financial advisory services tailored to individuals and small businesses.
The Group’s expansion into real sector investments is reflected in Goodwill Real Estate, which focuses on property development, asset management, and investment opportunities. Meanwhile, its social responsibility agenda is driven by the Goodwill Foundation, a charitable arm committed to supporting underprivileged children and providing scholarships to orphans.
Within this ecosystem, Goodwill Professional Institute (GWPI) serves as the skills-development pillar, delivering vocational and professional training in fields such as accounting, banking, finance, and real estate, with a clear focus on enhancing youth employability.
The Group has steadily expanded its presence across Cameroon, with its headquarters located in Bonamoussadi, Douala, and additional operations in Bonaberi and Village. It also maintains a presence in Buea, with a branch in Molyko, while the newly launched Yaoundé campus in Biyem Assi further strengthens its national reach.
Driven by a vision to foster sustainable economic growth, the Goodwill Group of Companies continues to position itself as a catalyst for empowerment by equipping individuals with practical skills and providing financial solutions to small and medium-sized enterprises.
With the launch of GWPI in Yaoundé, the Group reinforces its commitment to building a new generation of skilled, job-ready professionals while creating a broader ecosystem of opportunity for career advancement and entrepreneurship in Cameroon.
