Hon. Donald Malomba Esembe: Champion of Youth Leadership, Peace and National Unity

Hon. Donald Malomba Esembe, Member of Parliament (MP) for the Buea Urban Constituency, continues to distinguish himself as one of the most dynamic young leaders in Cameroon’s political and judicial landscape, combining legislative excellence, party loyalty, civic responsibility, and peace advocacy.
A trained magistrate currently on secondment to the National Assembly, Malomba Esembe boasts over 20 years of public service. A graduate of the National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM), he was sworn in as a magistrate in 2011 and served in the Office of the Prosecutor  General of the South West Region, where he contributed significantly to the administration of justice. His professional career cuts across the three arms of government, having served in the judiciary, in the executive as a staffer at the Ministry of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts, and now in the legislature as a frontline lawmaker representing Buea Urban since his election into Parliament in 2020.
Within Parliament, he holds the strategic position of Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Constitutional Laws, where he plays a critical role in shaping legislative reforms and strengthening democratic governance. He also chairs the Regional Committee for Monitoring the Public Investment Budget in the South West Region, leading participatory oversight sessions aimed at ensuring transparency, accountability and impact-driven development. In addition, he serves as Executive President of the Network of Cameroonian Legislators for Road Safety, spearheading nationwide awareness campaigns, policy advocacy and grassroots outreach programmes to curb road accidents and promote public safety.
At the political level, Hon. Malomba Esembe is a leading figure of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) in Fako Division. Deeply committed to party mobilization, grassroots sensitization and political re-organization, particularly among youths and women, he has consistently strengthened the party’s base in Buea and surrounding localities through regular field visits, political meetings, capacity-building workshops and community engagements.
In the context of the ongoing Anglophone crisis, the Buea lawmaker has emerged as a consistent advocate for peace, dialogue and national unity. He has actively participated in and supported peace walks, community dialogue platforms, reconciliation campaigns and sensitization drives aimed at promoting social cohesion, peaceful coexistence and the return to normalcy in the South West Region. His actions have focused on discouraging violence, fostering tolerance and encouraging young people to embrace peace as the only viable path to sustainable development.
Beyond institutional engagements, Hon. Malomba Esembe remains deeply committed to youth empowerment and social transformation. He is at the forefront of several community-driven initiatives, including the Na We We Buea Urban Sports Tournament, which promotes unity, discipline and healthy competition among young people; the #StopBadMop Campaign, targeting taxi drivers to combat hate speech and promote civic responsibility; and the “Empowering Young Minds” programme, which supports education, mentorship and the prevention of youth radicalisation.
His dedication to civic responsibility and national development has earned him widespread recognition. In early 2025, he received the First Prize for Citizen Engagement from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education (MINJEC), in recognition of his grassroots outreach and youth-focused initiatives. In 2022, he was knighted in the Cameroon Order of Valour, and he is also a Knight of the Order of Merit, honours that reflect his outstanding service, integrity and unwavering commitment to the nation.
Born on September 14, 1985, Hon. Donald Malomba Esembe stands today as a symbol of youth leadership, resilience and patriotism in Cameroon’s evolving political landscape. Through competence, dedication and visionary leadership, he continues to embody the ideals of peace, democracy, social cohesion and national unity, inspiring a new generation to actively contribute to the country’s sustainable development.
