Fon of Bambalang Urges Subjects to be Peace Ambassadors

Fon Kelvin Shomitang II Fon of Bambalang Village in Ngokentujia division of the restive Northwest Region of Cameroon has called on all his subjects to be ambassadors of peace in all areas they find themselves.

He made this call during a “meet the people tour” where inhabitants of the Bambalang community were gathered under the Mbaw Yakum Development and Cultural Association in Bonaberi, Douala 4 subdivision on Sunday 3rd of October 2021.

The Association’s meeting was graced by the presence of high profile traditional authorities from different parts of the Northwest Region,the Littoral Region and other administrative authorities.

Speaking to his people,Fon Shomitang 2 highlights clearly that, his visit is to talk peace on all levels and sought out possible solutions regarding the situation of internally displaced persons from his locality presently residing in the Littoral Region

He also encourages his people to be ambassadors of peace as he plans on mobilising them to preach peace, reconciliation and equally inculcate the principles of living together for the growth of the nation.

During the meeting,the Bambalang people seized the opportunity to table some challenges they are faced with. A number of points were raised by the brand president of the MYDCA association Mr Ndifiembu Thomas which the fon promised to look into.

Amongst other things, the Fon frowns at the attitude of some members who do not comply with the associations rules and regulations.
He equally laid down some rules which is to govern any Bambalang indigene intending to carryout any project back home.

It is worthy of note that Fon Kelvin Shomitang 2 wears the cap of President of the Northwest House of Chiefs and is equally the Vice President of Northwest Regional Assembly.

The Peace mission ended with fascinating traditional rythms from the grass field displayed by women and youths of MYDCA while hopes to Foster more development projects and promoting peace and reconciliation in the country continues
