Uneasy Calm Returns To Kumbo After Separatists Disrupt 40th Anniversary Celebration of Bishop Nkou.


Uneasy calm has returned to Kumbo chief town of Bui Division of the Northwest region after suspected separatist fighters stormed the church yesterday shooting indiscriminately to disrupt Bishop George Nkou 40th Anniversary celebration.

The Archbishop of Bamenda his Lordship Andre Nkea who was part of the celebration has said he and other personalities had to spend the night in Kumbo because security reports have it that some improvised explosive devices were planted along the Kumbo-Bamenda stretch of road. It should be recalled that Kumbo is the stronghold of the separatist movement and many personalities including the paramount ruler of the Nso people have been kidnapped several times there not leaving out some members of the defence and security force who have lost their lives there.
