The revelation was made Wednesday March 24, 2021 in Mbouda, West region of Cameroon by Public Works minister Emmanuel Nganou Njoumessi during a working session held at the Divisional Delegation of Public Works for Bamboutos. In the presence of the Senior Divisional Officer of the Bamboutos, Franklin François ETAPA, Minister Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi recalled the history of road project launched in 2017 which has been experiencing multiple hurdles. This 59.900 km long stretch of road has become a breaking point on the Yaoundé-Enugu corridor, the works of which is progressing well on the Yaoundé-Bafoussam-Babadjou section and has been completed on the Bamenda-Mamfe-Ekok section.
Following an observation of the deficiency of SOGEA SATOM on the Babadjou-Matazen section, the Minister decided to mobilize a new Contractor and a Quality Control Firm for emergency works, under the supervision of the Regional Delegate of Public Works for the west region West.
The stakeholders immediately examined the consistency of the works as well as the human and material resources necessary to ensure the continuity of traffic in complete safety on this stretch of road.
Following a site visit under heavy downpours after the meeting, the Minister instructed the deployment of two simultaneous workshops for rapid works of impeccable quality, to be capitalized on in the final works. The minister revealed.
