Society: Cameroon Hit By Series of Fire Outbreaks


The increasing rate of fire incidents has become a call for concern throughout the national territory. In the last five days, Cameroonians have had to wake up to at least one fire incident at different locations each day. The most recent cases, one of the biggest sawmills Worth 50 million in Bambalang village and over 75 shops at the mile 4 market in Bamenda.

The Mile 4 market caught fire in the evening hours of Monday January 8, 2021. Although the cause of the fire is yet to be known, traders and business owners are blaming the arson attack on the separatist fighters.
This fire incident in Bamenda comes barely 24hours after a 7 year old boy died alongside his grandmother in Buea, when their house took to flames.

All these frequent fire incidents have one resuming factor: the causes are yet to be known. By Ngong Joy
