The Minister of Territorial Administration Paul Atanga Nji, accompanied by the Governors of the West and North West regions, Augustine Awa Fonka and Adolf Lele LAfrique respectively, have paid an important visit to the custom check point between Santa in the North West region and Matazem in the West region borderlands on January 19th 2021.The Minister was the bearer of the Head of State’s massage of condolence to families that were affected during the attack on that check point on January 8, 2021 at about 6:30am, by suspected separatist fighters from Pinyin in the North West region. The incident led to the death of 6 persons: two civilians, one police officer and 3 gendarme officers.
The Minister encouraged the local population to work in collaboration with the local administrative authorities, defense and security forces, in order to track down those perpetrating such unlawful acts. Security in that area has been stepped up to prevent the occurrence of such incidents and more. The later shared some humanitarian aids to IDPs at the premises of the NW governors office.
